Luton Christian Fellowship Leadership Statement
26th May 2019
Rob Boyle’s Statement
It is with very much sadness and with great regret that I have to inform you that my time as pastor of LCF has come to an end. Chrissie and I recognise we are unable to continue in our roles here and therefore have handed in our resignation.
I know for certain that God has not finished with us and that He has a role for us to play, but we have to come to terms with the fact that it will not be here at LCF.
God bless you all. With very very much love,
Rob and Chrissie
No doubt you will surprised and saddened by Rob’s statement.
Rob will be leaving his position as Senior Pastor of LCF, and Chris her position as Youth and Events Coordinator from the end of May.
Rob has spent his entire life serving LCF, and Chris all her adult life, as they have built on the foundations laid by Rob’s parents Brenda and Phil, and others. As a couple they live their lives determined to be good witnesses to Christ in all they say and do, faithfully serving God, and His church here at LCF. There has been absolutely no issue of moral or financial impropriety. Rather, they are great examples to us all of how to be a married Christian couple and parents.
They are great friends to us all and we love them dearly.
Over the last 6 months we have faced several issues, which due to their personal and confidential nature we will not disclose. We have worked hard to prayerfully address and resolve these issues, but ultimately it was not possible and with great sadness we have accepted Rob and Chris’ resignations.
David Campbell as Elim’s Regional leader has been supporting us all over this period.
This change will affect them and their families in many ways. Please keep them in your prayers. Pray that they, and their family, including Charlie, Hannah and Nathan, as well as Brenda, Audrey and Sue will know God’s support, blessing and direction in their lives ahead. Please be sensitive to their feelings and give them the space and time they need.
We will financially support them in the period of transition ahead.
Nigel has graciously agreed to continue to walk alongside us and support LCF. He will continue to work with us 3 days a week.
The elders, together with the staff team will continue to serve, and will temporarily cover Rob and Chris’ areas of responsibility. Our God is a God who builds His church, and as Rob said, ‘He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion’. We all have our part to play in living our lives to love and worship our heavenly Father and build the church of Jesus Christ. We look to your help and support.
In the coming weeks we will inform you of the steps we will be taking to appoint a new senior pastor for LCF.
LCF is God’s church, He has built it, He will protect it, and He will sustain it. LCF is secure in God’s hands.
